Kasvila is run by Suvi and Jarmo, two individuals with very different backgrounds, yet who share a deep passion for vegan and gluten-free food. The restaurant itself was the uniting force that brought them together, allowing them to combine their unique perspectives and innovate new products to delight their customers.
Suvi
Passionate about vegan and gluten-free food, Suvi wanted to create a restaurant where everyone could enjoy a satisfying meal without compromising their dietary needs or ethical choices. She decided to open the restaurant in her hometown Sipoo, challenging the notion that vegan and gluten-free dining is only available in larger cities.
Plant-based for almost 30 years, Suvi’s journey with food started during her teenage years in France but took on a new dimension when she embraced a vegan and gluten-free diet a few years ago, a change driven by her own health challenges. Through her diet choices, she found a renewed sense of health and vitality, sparking a passion for inviting others too to experience the transformative power of plant-based food.

Jarmo

Jarmo is a culinary artist whose life story is as rich and diverse as the flavors in his dishes. As a young man, Jarmo embarked on a journey of discovery that led him to spend the majority of his adult life abroad. His travels exposed him to a vast array of spices, techniques, and culinary traditions, all of which he has woven into his cooking style.
A committed vegan, Jarmo has dedicated himself to creating delicious plant-based food that honor the ingredients and flavors he encountered abroad. Jarmo’s dishes are known for fresh ingredients and thoughtful blend of spices, which bring together the best of Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine.
Together, Suvi and Jarmo work tirelessly to create meals that are not just nourishing but also a celebration of the plant-based world and the abundant gifts of nature, drawing inspiration from the places they have lived and loved. Whether it's a fragrant Thai-inspired curry, a hearty Middle Eastern mezze platter, or a refreshing French salad or indulgent dessert, Kasvila's food tell the story of its owners' life, and their passion for healthy plant-based cuisine.
Beyond Kasvila, Suvi and Jarmo run another company called Miumaumukkaa which is at the forefront of developing new and innovative vegan products. Their shared passion for innovation and sustainability drives them to create products that are not only delicious but also contribute to a healthier body, mind, soul -and planet too.
